A small bottle with a big impact—perfect for maintaining your favourite wooden gear, whether at home or out in the wild.
Wooden handles, kuksas, and other items in your outdoor kit deserve proper care to last a lifetime. Casström’s boiled linseed oil is a simple, traditional solution that protects, revitalises, and brings out the natural beauty of wood.
Applied regularly, the oil penetrates deep into the fibres, helping to protect wooden knife handles from moisture, drying, and everyday wear. It’s equally effective for refreshing the outer surface of a kuksa (if it is looking a little dry) or other wooden items that see frequent use outdoors. The result is wood that feels nourished, looks richer, and ages gracefully over time.
Linseed oil is made from pressed flaxseed, a natural and renewable raw material with a long history of use in wood care. Once cured, the oil forms a protective layer that helps shield the wood while enhancing its natural grain and character—without masking its authentic look and feel.
Use kitchen paper to apply a thin coat and wait for a few minutes. Wipe off any excess oil and let the handle dry for 30 minutes. Wipe the handle thoroughly and cure for 24 hours. Several coats can be added to the handle over time.
NOT food safe. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Important safety note: Linseed oil can self-ignite during curing. Always lay used rags or kitchen paper flat to dry on a non-flammable surface, or store them in a sealed metal container before disposal.
